The Armayesh Group, headquartered at Mumbai, today comprises 7 privately held companies and a partnership firm. Promoted in September 1972 by Mr. Naozer Jamshed Aga, a first-generation entrepreneur and some of his family members.

Soon after graduating from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, Mr. N.J. Aga joined Voltas Limited (part of the "Tata" Group) in 1962, as a Management Trainee. In a career spanning 10 years there, he rose to the post of All India Product Manager; a job he left to promote the Armayesh Group. The word "Armayesh" came about by combining the names of his two children, son Armand and daughter Ayesha.

a) India - Shapoorjee N. Chandabhoy Design Private Limited, an architectural/designing firm (formed originally in 1868 by the maternal great, great grandfather of Mr.N.J.Aga).

b) Overseas - Privately held Companies controlled and professionally managed outside India. The associated companies are located in Europe and U.S.A. They manufacture, import, export and distribute various products and have finance and investment activities.

The Armayesh group has business interests in:Manufacturing & Export - world leader of the highest quality of hand embroidered products for high fashion apparel of fabrics and leather, accessories, interior decor and footwear to the European Union (Italy, Spain, France, Germany, England) U.S.A, Australia, Japan and several other countries.

Exclusively custom designed and tailored hand embroidered ethnic Indian and Western products like saris (particularly parsi garas),dupattas, lenghas, ghagras, cholis, kurtas, jackets, trousers, bustiers, blouses, waistcoats, stoles, scarves, shawls, cushion covers, wall pictures and handbags are also supplied to select customers in India and overseas who visit (by appointment only) the design studio and showroom at Fort, Mumbai.
We have also developed user specific tailor-made computer software for our hand embroidery and finance and investment operations.

Finance and Investment - stocks, bonds, inter-corporate deposits, fixed deposits, bills discounting, etc.
Consultancy - specialising in assisting in the formation of fully owned or joint venture projects in India.

    In March 1998, B.B.C World, featured our hand embroidery design studio, showroom, workshops and operations in their "Style!" TV programme.

    The October 1997 issue of Parsiana featured an extensive cover story article on the group.

    In its August 1998 issue, JetWings (inflight magazine of Jet Airways, India's largest private sector Airline) carried an article "Prized Heirloom" giving a write up and containing photographs of Parsi gara saris designed, embroidered and modelled by Armayesh.
